Bill Baird, of the late lamented Sound Team, brings his Sunset project to town tonight for a show at Rotture. Baird is a remarkably prolific soundsmith, and I spent a happy hour last night listening to Sunset's Gold Dissolves to Gray on the turntable. It's the kind of pastoral pop album that reminds one of legendary records like Ram or Something/Anything?, without faltering the slightest in the comparison. Anyway, Sunset's got a new double album coming out later this year, to be entitled Loveshines But The Moon Is Shining Too, and the track above is a preview. Sound Team was an excellent band, and Baird is something of a musical genius. Don't overlook this show—we almost did!
