On your November ballot, you will see measures to create medical marijuana dispensaries, strengthen mandatory minimum sentences for felons, and permanently diverting 15% of lottery proceeds to build habitats for wildlife.

- The DJC
- MULTNOMAH KENNEL CLUB: Could have been a casino. Won't be.
What won't you see? A new casino in Wood Village (the measure to authorize the casino in Multnomah County passed, but the one to make a constitutional amendment allowing non-tribal casinos didn't). A measure to put legislative redistricting in the hands of a panel of former judges (the initiative's author, Kevin Mannix, sued Secretary of State Kate Brown but wouldn't have had enough signatures even if the disputed ones qualified).
The casino backers are now also suing, seeking access to the signatures. They say they're sure that Brown made an error in the counting, which is done using a statistical sample rather than counting every signature.
So there you have it.
