Danny Boyle's follow-up to Slumdog Millionaire is 127 Hours, starring James Franco. (As I've made public declarations of my Francophilia before, I have no hesitancy about doing so again here. My girfriend and I have discussed it. She's cool with it.) Judging by the trailer, 127 Hours looks to tell a beautifully shot, exhilaratingly edited story of a freewheelin' mountain climber, Aron Ralston, who loves nothing more than exploring southern Utah's stunning landscapes with cute girls and OH GOD SWEET JESUS THIS IS GOING TO BE TERRIFYING. Says Wikipedia, "The film is based on the true story of Aron Ralston, the American mountain climber who amputated his own arm to free himself after being trapped by a boulder in Utah, USA for nearly five days."
I'm looking forward to seeing 127 Hours. I'm slightly less excited about the "trapped in a desert crevasse and having to amputate my own arm" nightmares that it'll no doubt inspire. They'll probably start tonight.
