Here at Mercury HQ, everybody's always all, "Hey, what's it like having KATU for a neighbor? Must be super exciting, right?" WRONG. Those guys at KATU are the most boring neighbors ever. They aren't like Anchorman at all and they get surprisingly grumpy when you blast airhorns whenever they're doing "location shoots" 10 feet outside of their offices.
Except today, KATU has totally redeemed itself by having DINOSAURS IN THEIR PARKING LOT. The dinosaurs are there for the Oregon State Fair—apparently on KATU's AM Northwest, there was a segment about how the fair has a fairly strong dinosaur theme this year. A friendly lady hanging out by the dinosaurs—I shall refer to as the Dinosaur Wrangler—said that the fair will have 37 animatronic dinosaurs on display, plus "dinosaur snacks," which she later specified were "pterodactyl wings," which I'm guessing are actually "elephant ears." At this point, I got distracted by the fuzzy velociraptor and wandered off.
More pictures after the jump.
