Straight out of the ongoing Gamescom conference comes the first gameplay footage of the upcoming Capcom/Namco Bandai fisticuffs orgy Street Fighter X Tekken.
Unsurprisingly, Ryu/Chun Li vs Kazuya/Nina looks a whole lot like a slightly grittier Super Street Fighter IV crossed with a more two-dimensional Tekken 6 while giant Servbot heads and spare wreckage from Xenogears and Lost Planet offer enthusiasm boners to attentive fanboys from the safety of the background plain.
Oh, and that Kazuya/Nina team attack is something I've been waiting to see since Tekken Tag Tournament hit the Avalon back in '99. Propers to Katsuhiro Harada for that action.
(Bonus thought: Is it too much to hope for a Breath of Fire/Tales of X mashup stage? Capcom already made it pretty clear that we wouldn't be seeing non-Street Fighter characters squaring up against Namco Bandai's stable, so why not have Ryu — not that one, the OTHER Ryu — fishing with a few of the more popular Tales protagonists? Double points for Capcom if he uses his tail as a pole.)
