I just got back from a trip to Fred Meyer. In addition to food and drink for the next few days I also grabbed three video games: LittleBigPlanet 2, Far Cry 2 and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom. Why?

Because prices have been slashed to the bone!

Now, I didn't get comprehensive details — had to get home to whip up a nice ravioli in vodka sauce along with some delicious Grand Central Bakery Piccolo Como bruschetta — but the gist of things, according to the stock boy I flagged down, is that until the beginning of March, Fred Meyer stores around the city are throwing sales tags on almost every game that isn't brand new. That copy of LittleBigPlanet 2 I grabbed was the standard $59.99, but Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom (a game I've never seen on a store shelf, by the way) was only 20 bones and Far Cry 2 was just a penny below ten.

Other highlights include the phenomenal Bayonetta at $20, the fantastic Red Dead Redemption at $30, and the better-than-the-Internet-thinks Dark Void at $10.

The most important bit, the stock boy said, was making sure that you get down there as soon as possible. This is one of those "while supplies last" type things, so unless you make it down there in the next ten minutes don't expect the less common games to stick around long.

Translation: If anyone other than me gets a copy of TvC during this sale, expect a vodka sauce spit take.
