They may get more attention, but the rock 'n' roll summer camps of our fair city aren't the only option for youngsters who want to learn something creative over the summer: The Fashion Design Camp has been going strong for since 2006, giving kids aged 10-16 hands-on experience with sketching, pattern making, fabric selection, and sewing—and even modeling. Each camper has the opportunity to show off the fruits of their summertime projects at a fashion show concluding the session. This year's is happening this Friday at Elizabeth Street (635 NW 23rd, 7:30 pm), hosted by Robyn and Matt Zaffino, no less. Be the first to see the future stars of Portland fashion, and say you knew them when!
