The mingling of fashion design with interior design is nothing new. I like to think of them as cousins from a large talented family. But sometimes those worlds overlap in such a lovely way it's worthy of a little golf clap right in front of your computer screen. French designer, Christian Lacroix, already known for his couture line, denim line, perfume, children's wear, lingerie and menswear has tackled the world of interior. In my head, wood paneling is something on the walls of a rec room where possible teenage make out sessions occur but Lacroix has created sophisticated, beautiful wood paneling banishing the rec room thoughts forever. Using combined processes of dyeing, printing, inlays and veneers the wood becomes just as intricate as any fabric or wall paper with a completely different texture and feel. Collection available through French company Marotte.
