Just in time to fill your stocking, Dirty Mittens have come out with their very first vinyl release, a 7-inch single on splendid local label Magic Marker. It's a pair of sunny pop songs ("Row" backed with "This Here Year") and it's one of those happy singles where you can't decide if the A-side is better than the B-side, or vice versa. The Mittens just completed a West Coast tour last month and they'll be playing a New Year's Eve set here in Portland at Mississippi Studios, opening for the Helio Sequence and the excellent Ramona Falls. It'll be the first chance Portlanders have to get their own hopefully-not-too-dirty mittens on the single straight from the band, although you can also get it from Magic Marker's site. For a taste, here's the A-side. (You can mosey on over to the Mittens' Bandcamp page to hear the flip.)
