Nobunny, the bunny-masked alter ego of Justin Champlin, comes through town tonight in support of First Blood, a new record out this year on what might be the world's best garage rock label, Goner Records out of Memphis. Yes, Champlin wears a bunny mask throughout the entire set. Sometimes he wears little else. Sometimes firecrackers go off. But none of this weirdness would matter if Nobunny's music wasn't a good, trashy time, with punkfun non-hits reminiscent of the Ramones, Elvis, King Khan and BBQ, Portland's own Mean Jeans and more. Nobunny plays a solo show at East End (203 SE Grand) tonight as part of that venue's three-year anniversary celebration. Guantanamo Baywatch and Pure Country Gold are also on the bill. You can be sure that's where the party is going to be tonight.
