Sad news from this weekend: A house fire (allegedly) triggered by a burning candle destroyed the Honey Pot, a local house venue at 5934 N. Borthwick that was also the home of Ryne Warner (from Ohioan and local label Infinite Front). The fire injured a firefighter, plus four of the home's residents had to escape by jumping out a window.
We're trying to get the word out on our situation. In short, our house burnt down on Sunday morning, [we] lost a good chunk of the music gear and personal belongings, a few roommates suffered minor injuries and have ER bills coming their way that the landlords insurance isn't covering...
The above video has the local news report on the fire and Ryne and his roomates have a few much-needed benefit shows in the works. The first will be at Backspace on September 8, with sets from Death Songs and Arrington de Dionyso's Malakait dan Singa. You can donate directly via PayPal at the Infinite Front site. Meanwhile, the source of the fire is still being investigated.
