Portland's Best Party Band (TM), the Mean Jeans, have a new 7" split single, "RU Mental?" The vinyl is available in fine record stores now. And as with every song in the Jeans' catalog, "RU Mental" is a masterstroke of pop punk perfection.
It was almost exactly a year ago that we first met the Jeans. At that time, their flawless Dirtnap full-length, Are You Serious? was making its way to ears across the country. Other than a few odd shows in Seattle, the Jeans had never played out of Portland.
Since, the trio has toured Europe, and just last week wrapped their first west coast swing. Indeed, the Jeans are just too fun. If you can't get behind finely-crafted Ramone's-eqsue, feel-good party blasts, well, RU Mental?
Here's to another year of getting twisted to the Mean Jeans!
