It was whispered about, but now it's official: the Blazers have inked free-agent center Fabricio Oberto to a one year contract. ESPN's Marc Stein broke the news:

Not sure you heard, but the Blazers have a wee problem with injured big men, so Oberto gives them more depth at the position. He's been in the league for five years, including a run starting 33 games at center for the '06-07 Spurs. Much like Rudy, Oberto has spent time playing professional ball in Spain as well and he owns a winery, so I assume he'll love the Willamette Valley. The Blazers just got a backup center and a starting sommelier.
