Did you know that Dr. Martens' North American headquarters are in Portland? "Beyond logistics, the city, with its fiercely independent spirit, connects well to the individuality, self-expression and rebellion associated with Dr. Martens," says press release. Well, they've got news. The Dr. Martens store that's long been on SW Broadway (no really, it was the first in the US!) near the square has picked up shop and moved a few blocks down to the ground floor retail space at the corner of E Burnside & 10th (across the street from Powell's, Rocco's and the public art ding-dong fondly known as "the devil's testicle")—2 NW 10th, to be exact. And, to celebrate, the store is hosting a free music series, kicking off with a The Builders & The Butchers show on October 22.
