Another week, another Mercury music section to read while you listen to Gene Simmons lecture everyone on the state of the music industry. "The music industry was asleep at the wheel and didn't have the balls to sue every fresh-faced, freckle-faced college kid who downloaded material.” Fresh and freckle faced? Oh, Gene.

Guided by Voices returns for a reunion of their classic lineup. Since he'll most likely consume his tour profits one Budweiser at a time, look for Robert Pollard to tour next year in support of GBV's later years (I think this clip sums that era up) as well.
LISTEN:

Guided by Voices - "Game Of Pricks" (seven-inch version)

While we were asleep at the wheel (My god, Gene Simmons was right!), Canadians took over pop music. Eh, I'm fine with this, especially if it means more k-os in my life.
LISTEN:

k-os - "I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman"

Phantogram discuss Eyelid Movies and their connection to Portland. I guess that means Saratoga Springs is totally the new Williamsburg.
LISTEN:

Phantogram - "When I'm Small"

The pride of Tuam (pronounced "choo-um," which is just ridiculous) So Cow brings his punchy little pop songs from Ireland to our shores.
LISTEN:

So Cow - "Start Over"

End Hits: Ace Frehley has some advice about the housing collapse and adjustable-rate mortgages.
