Oh, good. Good, good, good. Beautiful new music from the (moderately-statured) Swede infamous for bringing grown men—well, the Merc music staff, however you want to define them—to their knees. I missed out on his last show, thanks to an inconsiderate table lingering over their creme brulee—I've seen newborns take larger bites—but I requested Friday, September 10th many, many days in advance so not to risk missing his MusicFest performance(s).
Here's a new song.
The Tallest Man on Earth- "Like the Wheel"
The new five-song EP, Sometimes the Blues is Just a Passing Bird, is available now on iTunes, or you can wait until November 9th for a tangible copy. Also, you have two chances to catch Mr. Matsson in the (relatively un-gargantuan) flesh this Friday at the Doug Fir: once for a free, live KEXP session at 2:30pm, and again for a proper show starting at 9pm with The Cave Singers, Mimicking Birds and S. Carey. Phew.
